Bible Reading Plan

In April, the plan Dale recommended gets more difficult to follow historically.  The United Kingdom of Israel splits into two kingdoms.  The readings in Kings and Chronicles alternate between kingdoms.  Numerous kings are mentioned in both kingdoms – some have the same name; some have multiple names by which they were known.  The prophets start to speak within the historical setting so their writings appear interspersed with the historical books.  In short, it becomes hard to follow as we read chronologically.  Dale put together a couple timelines which he uses when reading through the rest of the OT.  The first is a general historical timeline which shows foreign kingdoms which beset Israel (Syria, Assyria, Babylonia, Persia).  The second shows the sequence of events within the United and Divided Kingdoms of Israel.  These timelines will help you read through the rest of this year.  Dale sent these timelines to many – if you have not received them and would like a copy, contact Dale at dbvlo68@gmail.com.
